_PROBLEM SUMMARY:

USERS AFFECTED: Any user retrieving job output from OMCS.
                All users viewing the system information display.

An OMCS writer task was cancelled with a CANCEL command or MODIFY OMCS,
CANCEL.  When the writer was restarted about 20 minutes later the
messages shown under PROBLEM DESCRIPTION came out.  The crucial problem
here was that the absolute jobs number (ABS#) was set back to 00000000.

PTF ASP0828 changes OMCSAMFP to check for and use information from
database file ".JOBDETL FIXFILE" to transform the ABS# component of the
CAPTURED field in the Job Detail record extracted from the .JOBAUDT
segment of a restored SDS file to a "corrected" value so that the
job detail record positioning is correct.  This fixfile is created by
the LOADFIXFILE function of program OMCSJDFY.

PTF ASP0828 ships a new program, OMCSJDFY, which performs a variety of
diagnostic and corrective operations on the job detail management files
namely: ".JOBDETL MASTER", ".JOBSEQ MASTER" and ".JOBDETL DATESPAN".
The LOADFIXFILE function of OMCSJDFY creates file ".JOBDETL FIXFILE".
OMCSJDFY must only used as directed by ASE support staff. Failure to
follow this guidance can result in irrepairable damage to the job detail
management files.

_PROBLEM CONCLUSION

RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTFs ASP0827 and ASP0828.
